LATE JUNE, 2006 - Still living in Kent this summer, I am looking for an apartment and making other arrangements for my pending move to the East Coast this Fall. I have completed my masters thesis, and will officially receive my masters degree in US History from Ohio University after I submit two final papers. After being accepted (with scholarships) at both University of Maryland and Carnegie Mellon, I will be doing my doctoral work at the University of Delaware, where I was offered a Hagley Fellowship. Andrew is working on his doctorate at University of Maryland, so we are looking for an apartment somewhere between Philadelphia and Washington DC. No, we haven't set a date for our wedding yet because weddings are hard enough to plan when you're not moving cross-country and starting a doctoral program! We *have* begun to discuss wedding ideas and reception options, though, so anyone interested in planning it all for us should contact me. :-) For now I am enjoying the summer weather and having that thesis monster behind me! OCTOBER 2006 - Julie and fiance Andrew moved in August to an awesome apartment in Bel Air, Maryland, located between University of Delaware (Julie's PhD program) and University of Maryland (Andrews's PhD program). They are having fun exploring their new surroundings.
