Chincoteague (say SHINK-a-teeg) has been a favorite Mancine vacation spot since Anne & Ben first visited here in 1979. Located off Virginia's Eastern Shore, the island is an easy 9-hour drive of about 500 miles. Chincoteague (the yellow island at left) has a downtown section with shops, restaurants, churches, library and post office. Permanent and vacation houses, cottages, hotels and motels dot the rest of the island. There are no beaches on Chincoteague - they are all on nearby Assateague, a long barrier island with bird sanctuaries, herds of wild ponies, and few permament structures. |

So here is our collection of photos from 2004. Sadly, Tom couldn't join us this summer. This web page is for him, and for anyone else who'd like to see what our Chincoteague vacation was like. | Assateague Images Beach Photos, More Beach Photos |
